Sama Ke Chawal Recipe

In this recipe we will show you how to make Sama Ke Chawal.

1. Banyard millet: 1 cup
2. Peanuts: 1 cup
3. Foxnuts: ½ cup
4. Some chopped coconut
5. Raisins: 1 tbsp
6. Cashews: 1 tbsp
7. Almonds: 1 tbsp
8. Finely chopped ginger: 1 tbsp
9. Finely chopped green chillies: 2-3
10. Black pepper powder: 1 tsp
11. Salt as per taste
12. Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
13. Finely chopped dates: 1 tbsp
14. Some finely chopped fresh coriander
15. Coconut oil: 1 tbsp

1. Soak banyard millet in water for 15-20 minutes.
2. Add oil to the pan once it has heated on medium flame.
3. Add ginger, cumin seeds and green chillies and fry them.
4. Now, add the peanuts.
5. Add banyard millet and fry for 1-2 minutes.
6. Add 1½ cup water.
7. Add black pepper powder, salt and mix well.
8. Cover the pan and let it cook for 4-5 minutes on low flame.

To prepare the garnish:
1. Add coconut oil to the pan.
2. Fry chopped coconuts, almonds, cashews, raisins and fox nuts for 1-2 minutes. 3. Scoop out the roasted dry fruits and mix with the rice.
4. Add dates and coriander and mix well.
5. Cover the pan for 1-2 minutes before serving.
